Aquarius Rail Launch Road2Rail Welfare with the First Women’s Toilets on Track

Facing a 10 minute walk to use the toilet or no welfare facilities at all is the reality of working on the railway for the UK’s Orange Army.

During Rail Safety Week (26th September to 2nd October 2016), Aquarius Rail in partnership with AJC Trailers are launching what is believed to be the first purpose built rail welfare unit that is delivered to the track worksite, exactly where railway workers need it.   With two toilets designated for men & women the Road2Rail Welfare will improve the quality of working lives of track workers.

The Road2Rail Welfare includes a kitchen with microwave, kettle, heater, hand washing facilities & seating area for 6 people.  Eco friendly LED lighting illuminates the interior & exterior track area around the unit.

Towed by an Aquarius R2R4x4 the unit is quick & easy to transport to the worksite with personnel being delivered as part of the package.  The welfare unit can be unloaded into the cess if required & the R2R4x4 & Trailer can be utilised for other tasks.

“We passionately believe that railway tasks should be made simpler & safer.  At Aquarius we develop transport solutions that reduce double handling of materials, so that the focus of energy is on the technical job in hand & not expended on complex time consuming logistics.  Delivery of welfare facilities to the track worksite has the power to improve working lives & wellbeing of railway engineers.” Abi Broadley, BD Director, Aquarius Rail.
